Extensive trail work and cleanup completed at X-Rock, with La Plata County, the City of Durango, Southwest Conservation Corps, Access Fund, and American Alpine Club. This culminated with a volunteer day with 40 climbers showing up for trail work and cleanup.
With hardware from ASCA we replaced 70 bolts with new stainless steel hardware, and placed lower 30 off hook anchors at Cascade Canyon, Golf Wall, East Animas, and Lakeview.
Completed trail work with the Access Fund at the Cat Wall in Indian Creek, Bears Ears National Monument
Helped coordinate new signage at Sailing Hawks with the City of Durango
Coordinated with the Bureau of Land Management to plan for future trail work at East Animas.
Two successful Climber Beer Nights at Ska Brewing
Spring Climber Beer Night we raised $1884.60 for the American Safe Climbing Association (ASCA)
Fall Climber Beer Night we raised $2286.91 (a new Climber Beer Night record) for the DCC
Held the inaugural “Higher Together” event with Pine Needle Mountaineering and raised $2015.39 for the DCC.
Increased attendance at our general meetings, from an average of 10 people per meeting to an average of 40.
And last but not least we took a break for November and December to rejuvenate.
